Afterlaunching the Honor 8X in Chinaearly last month, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has now launched the device in India at a starting price of Rs. 14,999. The new Honor 8X, which is the direct successor to the widely popular Honor 7X, packs in a mid-range Kirin 710 chipset from Huawei along with up to 6 GB RAM and up to 128 GB of internal storage.
TheHonor 8Xwill go on sale on Amazon starting from October 24, and the device will be available in three RAM/storage variants and in blue, black and red colors. The 4/64GB variant has been priced at Rs. 14,999, while the 6GB/64GB variant has a Rs 16,999 price tag. The top-end 128GB variant with 6GB RAM has been priced at Rs. 18,999.
The device features an impressive 6.5-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with a small notch up top, minimal bezels on either side and a rather small chin. Thanks to the narrow bezels, the Honor 8X has a 91 percent screen-to-body ratio, giving the device one of the best looking displays in the mid-range price segment, as we have seen in our first impressions video:
In the camera department, the Honor 8X features a 20MP f/1.8 + 2MP dual camera setup on the back, along with an impressive 16MP selfie shooter up front. Going with the latest smartphone trends when it comes to design and build quality, the Honor 8X features a premium glass sandwich design with a sturdy metal frame supporting the layers of glass on the front and back.
Backing up the internal hardware is a respectable 3,750mAh battery, but no fast charging support. The device ships with a 5V/2A charging brick in the box which isn’t the best option, but Honor claims that they’ve optimized the smartphone well enough that it charges faster even with the included charging brick.
