Qualcomm Will Launch 5G-Capable Snapdragon 600 and 700-Series Chipsets in 2020

Qualcomm has been leading the charge on the 5G front with its flagship Snapdragon 855 chipset, with the Snapdragon X50 modem in tow. But these smartphones are priced quite exorbitantly (Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5Gstarts at $1300) and well, the chipmaker now wants topush 5G to more affordable budget/ mid-range phonesfrom the likes of Redmi, Realme, Nokia, and others.

Qualcomm further adds that itsupcoming 5G-compatible chipsets are designed to support all key regions and frequency bandsincluding“mmWave and sub-6 GHz spectrum, TDD and FDD modes, 5G multi-SIM, Dynamic Spectrum Sharing, and Standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) network architectures.”This announcement comes just days after Samsung’s first 5G-integratedExynos 980chipset, which was unveiled at IFA earlier this week.
