Twitter Update: What’s New?

Mar. 23, 2019

When it comes to social media platforms, Twitter is one of my favorites. It helps me follow my favorite people and connect with my friends and family in a non-intrusive way. I don’t have to create a big profile like you have to do on Facebook and I get all the information that I need in a concise format. That said, you do need to be a little careful on Twitter otherwise you might be harassed as the environment is a bit toxic here. Still, it remains my favorite way to consume information and updates.

If you also love Twitter as I do, you might want to make the most of it by using its excellent features. However, most of us are not aware of the new features as it is really hard to keep track of them. That’s why we are creating this post where we will post Twitter’s updates and the features that come with it in an easy to read reverse chronological order. So, if you are interested, read along as we show you the major Twitter changelogs of the past.

Note:If you see the same changelog for multiple versions, it means that the new versions brought bug fixes and improvements to improve the implementation of the said features. It also means no new features were released during those updates.

Twitter Updates

The updates mentioned here are for the Android platform. If you are using web or iOS version of the app, you might receive these updates sooner or later than the dates mentioned here.

As you can see, over the past twenty updates, Twitter has not released any new features. All the updates were meant for fixing bugs and making the overall experience smoother and more seamless. However, it doesn’t mean that Twitter is not working on new features. If you want to have early access to Twitter’s new features, you will have to join its beta program.

While the beta program does come with bugs, I prefer it over the stable version as it allows me to access new features. If you also want that, you will need to join the beta. Currently, the program is closed but it is supposed to reopen soon as Twitter is testing some new features. You can join the beta program when it is available by clicking on the link below. In the meantime, you can joinTwitter’s Beta Google Groupto get updates on the beta program.
